Executive bio

Esteban Rey (Kilowatto) is founder and CEO of Ignia Cloud, the sovereign, hyper-powerful cloud for Mexico and Latin America. Before that, he founded and sold OnCloud, a pioneer of cloud computing in Mexico, returning 19x to its partners. He is also the founder of DeSiCi (2008) and the Yucatech Festival, and a serial investor through Orange Rhino Investments.

His business philosophy comes down to three words: People, Process, Product. Named to "World's Top 50 Leaders to follow" (AllAroundWorlds, 2025) and "333 Íconos de México" (Mundo Ejecutivo, 2025), and a distinguished guest at the 2025 World Knowledge Summit at Mexico's Senate, where he advocates for STEM education, cybersecurity, and inclusive digital ecosystems.

"This is a business: what matters isn't the awards, it's the profits, creating good well-paying jobs, and contributing to society and community."
